Rhayader Youth MXC - Rd 8 Club Champ - Neuadd - 18th July - Report

'RYMXC' Rhayader Youth Motocross held Round 8 of the Club Championships on
> Sunday 18th July 2010 at the famous Neuadd Track nr Pen-y-bont.
> With showers all week it turned out to be a brillant days racing with a
> light drizzle on times and a cooling wind to quickly dry off the marshals!
>
> The AMX was a poor entry (lots of bad heads from Rhayader Carvinal the
> night before) but the standard of racing was top notch with Lee 'Stanley'
> Edmondson riding on the edge all day, teasing the Cool Chris Morris and
> Sam
> Jones all the way to the chequered flag taking two race wins. Cool Chris
> was absolutley awesome and made it look very easy as he ploughed around
> the
> long circuit taking one win and two very close second places. But it was
> rider Sam jones who was back in the saddle after a long time out after a
> nasty crash at last years team event who put Stanley and Cool Chris to sit
> up and fight. Sam was very, very quick out he gate and pushed hard all
> day
> to nail three pleasing thrid places. In races two and three it was the
> ever improving Chris Wright and the lovely Gerwyn Exon who battled hard
> against each other with Exon just leading for the first few laps and
> Wright
> just piled the pressure and took control. And what a battle from Wyn Hope
> and Julian Eckley in race three it was very very close indeed with
> positions changing all the time. Eckley is certainly getting his mojo
> back
> in some order and putting old boy Hopey to sweat! Both riders putting in a
> good strong performance for the spectators.
> Group one (up to 150/2stroke) of the Seniors was girl power all the way
> with three outstandings wins Tanisha Thomas sorted out the man from the
> boys yet again! With some fantastic jumping and some very fast lines
> Thomas proved she's not to be messed with and is climbing up that
> Championship board. Dean Plumstead had another great round on his Yamaha.
>
> Deano worked had all day and is just improving all the time carrying alot
> more speed and confidence he took home second overall with a smile! Ryan
> Nicholls had his best result to date in third overall and it was very much
> deserved as Nicholls cruised round the big track and just rose to the
> challenge with a good consistent ride. Hannah Hope kept trucking and never
> gave up as she held on to her big bike (shes only little), she carried
> alot
> more speed and jumped well. In Group two (250/4stroke) there was some
> very
> exciting starts as the Awesome Adam Morris made his mark. Awesome Ad
> pushed hard to keep the leads but it was Oliver Paine who took no messing
> on the fast following track. Perfect Paine made no mistakes and rode like
> a dream and he really did power round that track with Awesome Ad pushing
> hard not far behind. The two boys never fail to deliver some great racing
> with Ollie taking first overall and Ad settling for a outstanding second.
> Third overall went the Guttsy Gareth Hughes who was unlucky in race two
> after his bike stalled and it wouldn't start for a while but in the end he
> past the flag. Guttsy Gareth rode very well allday and sat in third place
> in races one and three on his own pulling away from the rest of the field
> trying hard to hunt down Paine and Morris in front.
> Wearing the crown in the Inter-Open (Big Wheels) was Ryan Waters taking
> two firsts and one second place he worked hes backside off all day and it
> certainly paid off. The racing was very exciting in this group and just
> two points behind Waters was Dan Griffiths taking the win in race one.
> Dan
> had a great day and really opened the throttle and was flying round the
> fast track. Dan had some brillant starts and took the holeshot in race
> three but had some bad luck after a slip off but soon fought back. Third
> place was taken by the ever improving Kairon Watkins who really pushed
> himself to the limit. Watkins had a crash in race two but that did not
> stop and soon was back in the saddle after taking a breather. Harri
> Clarke
> and Scott Plumstead both rode well and pushed ahrd all day and were both
> getting faster every lap.
> The Inter-85 (small wheels) was dominated by Jack 'Fast Eddy' Edmondson
> who really did pull out all the stops and put on a real show for the
> spectators. Jacko took all three race wins with great ease. A
> outstanding
> ride from Connor Clewett paid off as he finished in second overall with an
> excellent days racing. Clewett always pushes the boundaries and never
> gives up whatever is in his way and rode very well indeed.
> Third place overall went to the strong and determind Mighty Ieuan Morgan
> even though he had bike problems on the start of race three. Mighty
> Morgan
> always crinds his teeth and gets stuck and it certainly paid off. Two
> riders who had a really good ride were Jack Newell and Rhys Roberts both
> powering forward without any problems. Bradley Eve was looking very quick
> and was jumping very well always as cool as a cucumber.
> In the Juniors it was 'The Rocket' Ryan Rowlands who took the bull by the
> horns and finished in first overall with three straight wins taking a huge
> lead from the rest of the group. The Rocket is going extremely well on
> his
> 65cc and is proving to be a huge challenge to tackle and is just getting
> quicker and quicker all the time! Joe Cadwallader proved to be more than
> a
> handful as he charged forward showing great style and lovely jumping, he
> is
> very strong and a lovely little rider. Joe took second place overall with
> great ease. In third overall it was the Cool Callum Evans who tested the
> field as usual and put in great effort having some very strong starts.
> Chasing Callum hard was Iwan Roberts who really pulled out all the stops
> to
> take home fourth place. Alfie Roberts also had a good strong ride
> carrying
> alot more speed.
