The Ringwood Schoolboy Scramble Club was formed in the Autumn of 1967 by a small group of local enthusiasts, many of whom were related to each other, so the club was in those days very much a family affair. Schoolboy Scrambling in those days was a fast growing sport, and the Ringwood club were proud of the fact that they were among the pioneers of the movement and that we were one of the founder members of the British Schoolboy Motorcycle Association (BSMA) in November 1970.
Today's race meetings are now enjoyed by Youth competitors aged 6 - 18 years of age, along with two Adult open classes - AMX Open for the under 30's and the Veteran's (VMX) for the over 30's and Adult Novice rider's.

Ringwood MX - Rd 7 Club Champ - Bere Regis - 16th May - Report

ROGERS Hill Raceway, Bere Regis in Dorset was the venue for Round seven of the Ringwood Motocross Club's 2010 Club Championship Series recently where a good turnout of riders treated everyone to three full blocks of racing on the natural hilly circuit with a bright if somewhat chilly start to the day.
The Automatic 50cc class was the first to kick start the racing and little Tyler Rowe was on mission this time winning all three races and securing a maximum powering away from the chasing pack in each races riding brilliantly. Second overall went the way of another little powerhouse in the form of Lee Percy who collected a string of runner-up places and James Rowe also had a brilliant meeting finishing in the top three with a couple of thirds and a fourth.
Another good line-up made for some terrific battles when the Senior class took to the circuit and the in form Ross Churchill made no mistakes at Bere Regis powering on to score a maximum and winning this class with ease on the day. Morgan Edwards fresh from his scintillating win in the recent Southern National was chasing Ross hard in all races and this time settled for overall runners-up following home second in each of his races whilst a third, fourth and a good sixth in the final ensured Luke Brine had his best Ringwood meeting to date finishing in overall third.
A rare Ringwood appearance from Ross Hill ensured the AMX Open encounters were wrapped up with a fine maximum score from the New Forest man whilst Paul Watts had his work cut out behind to keep Danny Richards at bay from spoiling his overall spot of second. Watts snatched the runners-up mantle due to a well placed second in race one followed up with a fifth and a third whilst Richards took a fourth, a third and a fifth in the final for overall third.
Current Club Championship leader Paul Williams again showed a clean pair of heels to all his rivals in the races to the finish line for the overall VMX Open encounters. Williams was in a class of his own even though new member Paul Denning made a welcome return to the Ringwood club finishing in overall second with a brace of seconds following close behind went the way of another old Ringwood legend in the form of Wayne Stone who grabbed overall third following Denning home each time.
Harry Sherman in the Big-Wheel 85cc races was another lad making a welcome return back to the Ringwood fold and was again in terrific form all day powering home over the line in each race to finish first and securing another maximum points score on the day. Another rider to catch the eye was the fast improving Louis Schmidt who was untroubled finishing in runners-up spot in all three races and keeping Karl Noble at bay who scored a couple of thirds and a fine fourth.
The Small-Wheel 85cc races were lead each time across the finish flag by the fast and stylish Joe Jefferies. Jefferies in fact demolished the opposition which was fronted by Aaron Gordon who had a brilliant day claiming a good couple of seconds and a fifth in the process beating the equally fast Jorja Johnson into overall second.
Sam "The Man" Lycett was just unstoppable finishing first past the post in each of the Junior 65cc encounters and claiming the final maximum points core of the weekend ahead of overall second Leon Read who rode three superb races to snatch overall second with a couple of neat thirds and a fifth followed home this time by Jay Ellis who had his best Ringwood meeting to date finishing with two fourths and a third.
