Hi we are Cornwall schoolboy scramble club, The club aim to give top class racing in and around the Cornwall area. The club was started in the early 70s to provide a safe place to discover the sport and is still very strong today, We welcome all new people to the sport and what with 2 new tracks this year to add to the list and the all new Fraddon moto parc being built for the club we have a lot to offer everyone wishing to race with Cornwall club. Our fixture list is packed this year with alot of great events and venues.

Cornwall SSC - Rd 7 Club Champ - Fraddon Moto Parc - 27th June - Report

Saturday the 26th of June saw the grand opening of the new Fraddon Moto Park.
The Track was proudly opened by motocross champion Rob Herring. The day saw the Wheeldon Farm team run a beginners try out day which was without a doubt a huge success it saw two of the riders selected to have a Wheeldon Farm sponsorship ride on the Sunday for round seven of Cornwall Schoolboy Scramble Clubs club championship. Rob Herring also done two training school sessions, which were a huge success and a great experience for those lucky riders that got a place.

Scorching hot weather was had throughout the day and everyone had an enjoyable day. Sunday was soon underway with again super hot weather. With the track being watered to a maximum on Saturday night after a slightly sticky practice block the conditions for the racing couldn’t have been better. A Massive entry of riders including two fully booked AMX Open classes the racing was hot, fast, furious and spectacular throughout all classes.

The AMX club championship racing was underway with Craig Dawe Taking hole shot and early lead. Tom Brett had unfortunate luck having to pull off on the first main straight with a broken chain. Wayne back raced behind Craig in second. The flat out style of riding almost saw him go down near the lap score van whilst in third place, Dan Wade went down in the exact spot moments after Wayne’s lucky escape. Further down the field Mervyn Vernon pulled off to the track to get a pair of goggles after starting the race without any. Wayne Back Gets the better of Craig in the later stages of the race and goes on to take a much deserved race win to start his weekend. Craig had to respectively settle for second ahead of the top four stroke in the pack Daniel Wade. James Williams took fourth ahead of Darren Toy who raced strong throughout. The Kawasaki of Johnny Hawkins claimed the race two hole shot. Matthew Richards stalled his Honda early on in one of the tracks berms. Mervyn Vernon drops it at the start of the sand section causing Mark Hoskin to stall having nowhere to go.
Whilst at the front of the pack Johnny Hawkins over shot the berm before the middle table top. Handing the lead over to Sam Chapman who was riding to a maximum. Matthew Richards again makes a mistake in the sand section causing him to stall once more, this time though he was unable to get his bike started and had to pull to the side of the track and watch positions fly past him. Final stages of the lap saw Daniel Wade really real into the back of Sam Chapman. The final lap saw Wadey shoot up past Sam through the tracks tight corner section. Wadey took the chequered flag leaving Sam to take second ahead of Wayne Back in third.
The track was watered for the start of the AMX final race. Sam Chapman took the race hole shot leading the rest of the near full gate pack down the wet straight. Wadey strongly was back on form hunting down Sam Chapman once as he did in the previous race. Sam Chapman raced a solid performance throughout launching high over each and every jump. Johnny Hawkins and Matthew Richards had a good battle go on but it was Johnny Hawking that claimed the extra point later on after the race was over. Last lap saw Wadey back on the rear fender of Sam Chapman’s Honda. The final corner saw them both there together with Wadey taking a wide line and Sam taking the inside line but Just a couple of inches difference saw Sam take the race win. Wayne back claimed third close behind securing second overall. Dan Wade took the overall victory whilst Sam Chapman took third. Craig Dawe whipped in great style to take forth ahead of James Williams. Whilst Fraddon Moto Park track designer Johnny Hawkins snapped up sixth. Matthew Brewer claimed twenty second overall, whilst James Woodford took twenty ninth.

AMX non championship saw Rob Herring compete along with his son James Herring.
The first race was under way with Rob Herring taking an early lead and the race holeshot with his son James close behind. Rob took the race win ahead of a brilliant race performance by Dave Yelland who took second, whilst Pete Redford took third ahead of younger Herring James. Rob Herring took the second race win ahead of Pete Redford and Dave Yelland who both raced strong once again.
Rob Herring Charged to take the race hole shot for the final race of the day. Pete Redford later took to the front as Herring received a puncture slowing him down.
Lisa Millward was seen back riding throughout the day after breaking her arm on the old Fraddon Moto Park circuit one and a half years ago. Pete Redford took the race win ahead of Gary Down. Despite a flat tyre Rob Herring took third to secure first overall. Pete Redford took the second spot ahead of Gary Down who took third. A solid weekend saw Nick Lee take fourth ahead of fifth and sixth Mick Macnamara and Andrew Watkins. Andrew Coad hit top ten taking ninth overall. Whilst South West’s Andy Gibbons claimed twentieth place.


Seniors saw Honda 250F rider Stuart Smith take the hole shot whilst other riders piled up. Brad Bolitho took the lead before the end of the first lap. Bradley Maddever crashed hard on the first lap and after a time amount he rejoined the race dead last and one lap down. Brad Bolitho took the race win ahead of Liam Curtis Stevens whilst Jamie Orchard took third ahead of fourth spot Staurt smith.
Race two saw Brad Bolitho take the race hole shot and go on to take another race win.
Visiting rider Ben Denison took second ahead of Liam Curtis Stevens. The final Seniors race saw Charlene Vernon join the race with a black eye injury received from a crash in the previous race but she was unable to finish the race due to headache.

Wheeldon Farm sponsored South African visitor Ashely Golcher had another strong race.
A fantastic and strong performance saw Liam Curtis Stevens take the lead away from Brad Bolitho and went on to take the race win away from him. South West’s Jack Stevens came in taking third behind them. Brad Bolitho took the overall victory spot with Cornwall Kawasaki Centres. Liam Curtis Stevens took second overall. Jack Stevens took third ahead of fourth overall Staurt Smith.Whilst visiting rider Ben Denison took fifth ahead of Jamie Orchard. South African rider Ashley Golcher claimed a strong sixteenth overall after a solid performance throughout the weekend.
Daniel Hocking came close behind in nineteenth whilst Sean Semmens claimed twenty-fifth after a great days racing.


A challenging group of Big Wheel 85's and 150 Hondas saw Will Hawkins claim the first race hole shot as the racing began. The race for fifth was being battled strong between, Jack Penhaligon, Matthew Winn and Adam Dawe. South West’s Jamie Buckingham moves into third later on as Harry Hart drops back after a suspected fall.
Alistair Gwennap, Dean Yelland and Kane Colsell battle hard further down the pack. William Hawkins claimed the first race win ahead of jack Gribble and Jamie Buckingham. Race two was underway with race one winner Will Hawkins taking to the lead early on after claiming another race hole shot.
Jack Gribble took to the lead on lap 2 and went on to claim the race win ahead of Will this time round whilst the white Honda CRF150 of Harry Hart powered to the finish flag in third after a solid performance throughout the race. The Final race was underway and one again Will Hawkins snapped his KX85 up the hard pack start straight to claim the hole shot. Jack Gribble was right on the back of him on his KTM85 by the end of the second lap with Harry Hart hanging on in third close behind them both. Unseen all season Seb Cox had a good ride on his new KTM as a newly upgraded small wheel competitor. Further within the pack Connor Libby and Dan Foster had a battle between themselves. Whilst further up the pack Jack Penhaligon, Jamie Buckingham, Cameron Young, Adam Dawe and Matthew Winn kept swapping places throughout.
Will Hawkins holds the lead as the closing stages of the race was taking place. Jack Gribble Put his best efforts in an attempt to take the race win away from him by dashing past will on the last lap but was unsuccessful leaving Will Hawkins to claim the final race win and take the Big wheel 85cc class victory. Jack Gribble respectively claimed second whilst just behind him Harry Hart and Jamie Buckingham tied on points in third and fourth. Jack Penhaligon took fifth ahead of sixth overall Matthew Winn.
Three strong rides throughout the weekend saw Cameron Young take eighth. Whilst Small Wheel upgrader, Seb Cox took eighteenth ahead of nineteenth overall Liam Chalk.


Race one of the Small wheel 85cc racing was under way with Jack Roberts claiming the race holeshot on his RM85.Dean Symons and south west visiting rider Dan Mundell was seen far down the back of the pack due to a suspected start collision. Whilst South West’s Tom Gibbons was well up in fifth, on his 150 Honda whilst Josh Bumnter was riding well up in third. The race was Red flagged around 5 minutes into the race due to Josh Bullen taking a crash needing medical attention. Josh was unseen for the rest of the day.
The Race was re run and this time Dean Symons clinched the hole shot having a much better start to the race. Zac Hudson and Ollie Winn were far down the field. Jack Roberts flew out over one of the tracks many table to snatched the lead away from Dean Symons. The Honda 150F of Bill Gribble was powering behind them in a strong third. Lap five saw Bill drop back behind Jack Curtis Stevens with Billy Northcott riding well behind them. Jack Roberts claimed the first race win getting the edge over Dean Symons. Whilst a great ride saw Josh Bunter take third spot. Race two saw South West’s Ben Gibbons take the race holeshot. Bill Gribble went down just before the start of sand section causing him to re start dead last. Jack Roberts was leading the race by the end of the first lap. After starting last, Bill Gribble powered into fifth by the early stages of the second lap. Pressure from Dean Symons saw Jack Roberts stall his bike allowing Dean to take lead. The race came to an end with Dean Symons taking the race win ahead of Jack Roberts. Bill Gribble charged into one of the tracks finishing corners taking back marker Ollie Brooks down on the ground. Bill Gribble took third. Ollie Brooks had to be taking to hospital but has been lucky to escape any serious injury.
Final race of the day took place with Josh Bunter taking the holeshot. Josh Bunter started to pull a lead early on in the race. Lap 3 saw Dean Symons claim the lead away from Josh. Dean Symons maintained the strong riding and went on to take the race win and claim overall victory. Bill Gribble made a last lap dash attempt on Brendon Cooper but failed. Jack Roberts took second securing second overall. Josh Bunter had to settle for third, taking third overall. Brendon Cooper claimed Fourth overall ahead of Bill Gribble. Whilst sixth went to hard trying Joe Eiffert.
South West’s Ben Gibbons took ninth overall. Whilst Oliver Win took twelfth, ahead of fifteenth overall Zac Hudson.


Race one saw of the Junior 65cc racing saw Aidan Williams first over to the telegraph pole. Matthew Treen was riding well in second but by lap 4 Treen had dropped back allowing Callum Jago too clear off away from him. Sam Johns lead the next group of riders putting the training day riding to the test. Aidan Williams took the race win ahead Of Callum Jago who had a strong race ahead of Matthew Treen in third.
Aidan Williams Took the second race win but this time Matthew Treen got the better of Callum Jago to take second spot with Callum respectively taking third after another strong ride. Start of the final race saw Callum Jago stall on the line. Aidan Williams took another race win taking overall victory with ease. A fantastic and much improved performance saw Henry Bees take a second as he raced flat out from start to finish bringing him up fourth overall. Young Todd Sawyer also upped the game taking third securing second overall. Callum Jago had a brilliant days racing and secured third overall. South West’s Matt Treen claimed fifth ahead of Dan Roberts. Thomas Andrew had strong rides throughout the day taking him to a solid ninth overall. Whilst best efforts saw Liam Smith claim seventeenth overall.

The automatic class saw young Tyler Rowe out front right from the start of the weekend, With Morgan Timms behind him early on in the first race. Tyler took the first race win ahead of Louie Kessel and Morgan Timms whilst the ever improving Sam Hunt took fourth. Louie Kessel claimed the holeshot for the second automatic race of the day. Tyler Rowe was soon the one out front leading the pack once more. Tyler went on to take the race win ahead of Louie Kessel and Morgan Timms.
Final Race of the day saw Morgan Timms take a nasty crash on one of the tracks many table tops but Morgan was lucky to escape injury and was safe enough to complete the race.
Tyler Rowe took the race win as well as first overall proving to be unbeatable once more.
Louie Kessel took three seconds securing second overall. Despite a crash Morgan Timms took three thirds and third overall. Jason Down raced well throughout the weekend and claimed fourth ahead of Archie Bees in fifth. Sixth overall was claimed by Harvey James. Whilst Connor Jago took eighth ahead of ninth overall Jack Pascoe.
