Coventry Junior MX - Rd 3 Club Champ - Turnpost Farm, Wymswold - 23rd May - Report

Coventry Junior Motocross club’s 3rd club championship round was held at Turnpost Farm and the track was in excellent condition. With the weather being so hot, having the bark chipping all around the track came in handy with keeping the dust down to a minimum, making it a good day of racing.
The heat didn’t seem to put Darren Carter off in the AMX class as he took three straight wins. In race one Scott Hambridge took second place ahead of Simon Whitting in third. Race too and Scott had another great ride to cake another third place, but this time it was Karl Jacques who took third. Race three and Karl had a fantastic ride to come second with Simon back on form in third place. Overall it was Scott who took second place with Simon third.
Matt Porter rode a superb race at the head of the Open class with three races wins. Adam Extance fought well to keep up with second place in all three races, with Mitchell Bates pushing hard each race in third.
Race one for the Seniors next and Brad Doyle started the day on top form with the race one win ahead of Kurt Shorter in second and Jamie Scott who had his best race of the day in third. Race two and Kurt picked up the pace to take the race win. Jordan Loomes had a brilliant ride to take second place ahead of Brad. Race three again saw Kurt take the race win, however Brad wasn’t far behind him to take second place. Jordan Hughes rode a strong race to take third. Overall it was Kurt who took first place, Brad in second and consistency paid off for Nathan Buckland who took third.
Big wheel race next and Daniel Neale was untouchable as he took all three race wins. In races one and two Jacob Hartwell had a great ride to take second, however in race three Jac Kearsley was on top form to take second place. Oakley Harrison didn’t give up all day and rode hard to come in third in each race. Again consistency paid off for Oakley as he took second place overall ahead of Jacob in second.
Oliver Benton was also in a league of his own in the Small Wheel race as he took all three race wins and the overall win. Danny Vieira also had a day to be proud of as he took second in each race ahead of JC Verdugo, who rode well to get third in all three races and overall.
Benjamin Kind had a fantastic day in the Junior class as the clear cut winner in all three races. In race one Callum Green raced hard to keep up in second with Daniel Van Der Hoeven in third. Race two Callum Green again had a great race to come second and this time Bradley Clarke picked up the pace to come in third. Race three and Daniel finished his day on a high coming in second ahead of Bradley who had another fantastic race in third, putting him on joint points with Daniel. Overall Benjamin took the win, with Callum in second and Daniel snatched the overall third with his second place.
Last out on the track were the Autos and Tyrone Brown flew off the start in race one to take the win ahead of Aaron Patstone in second and Harry Ingram in third. In races two and three Aaron wouldn’t be beaten as he took both race wins, taking Harry with him in second place. Harrison McCann also joined them at the head of the pack to take a well deserved third in both races. Overall Aaron took the race win, Harry in second and Harrison was third.
It was a good day of racing and the club would like to say a big thank you to Mark Porter, who helped with watering the track on the Saturday night and early Sunday morning. His help is very much appreciated.
As well as a club championship round, the club also held a mini team event, in which all of the riders were put randomly into teams of six and their points were all combined. The top three groups got prizes.
