East Anglia SSC - Hanningford - 27th June - Report

East Anglia SSC held round 9 of the club championship at East Hanningfield, Chelmsford, Essex. The club decided to run the track in the opposite direction than normal which made a good change, the weather was fantastic and a great day of racing was had by all. The club made a donation of £250 to the Essex Air Ambulance for the fantastic service they provide to the club and public alike. The club would like to thank Grips of Essex for sponsoring the meeting.


The Auto class was first out on the track and it was Drew Anderson who is on top form at the moment who took the overall with a maximum of wins. Chris Reader pushed hard and with three seconds took second place overall. Harry peck took third place in all three moto’s for the final podium place.

The Juniors were out next with a different winner in each race but it was Billy Jones who took a long awaited overall victory with a 2,2,1 score card. Ryan Allison came home in second with a 4,1,2 score card, with Sean Stamp coming in third with a consistent ride.

The Small Wheel 85’s produced some fast action at the front with Tommie Schofield and Austin Eary tying on points but it was Tommie who took his first overall of the season with two wins and a third. Austin took second overall with two seconds and a win in the final moto. Connor Hughes put on a strong ride as always but a sixth place in moto two placed him third overall on the day.

The Big Wheel 85’s were out next with a strong talented field, Mason Law put together three strong moto’s taking a maximum of three wins for the overall. Jordan Pasquale charged hard to take second in all three moto’s for overall second. Taylor Eary put together one of his strongest rides of the season taking two holeshots and third overall.

Next it was the turn of the AMX adult class to sample the Hanningfield circuit in the opposite direction with some fantastic racing throughout the field. Cameron Harris had a strong and consistent day taking second place in all three moto’s which was enough for the overall top spot. Sean Barwell had an up and down day but a win in the final moto secured second place overall on the day. Terry Howlett put together a consistent day coming in third overall.

The Open and Vets put on a great display of racing, in the Open class it was Charlie Heatley who is on fantasic form at the moment charged hard as usual for the overall top spot of the day. David Ford had a great day taking a win in the first moto followed up by a second and third for second overall. Ben Rocks put on a consistent day for third overall.
In the Vets it was Adrian Cooper who took the overall with Chris Keeble second and Paul Barrand third.

Out last but no means least were the Seniors and it was Brendon Mayers who had to charge through the pack a couple of times who took the overall with a maximum of wins. Paul Kilsby pushed hard but couldn’t match Brendon’s sheer pace had three second place finishes for overall second. Jordan Smith rode a consistent day to take the final podium place in third.
