East Anglia SSC - Chappel - 18th July - Report

East Anglia SSC held round 10 of the club championship at a completely revamped Chappel circuit. The circuit direction had been reversed and the start had been moved creating a completely new challenge for the competitors. The weather was fantastic and the racing was very close all day with battles all the way through the groups. The club would like to thank everyone who helped out during the week and weekend making sure the track was ready for racing on Sunday.

With a freshly graded and watered track it was the Seniors who were first to sample the new layout, Brendon Mayers put together three strong moto’s to take the overall with a 2,1,1 score on the day. Jordan Smith is continuing on good form with second overall and it was Paul Kilsby who took the first moto win rounding out the podium in third.

The Open/Vets class was full of action all the way through the pack, in the Open class Tom Crittenden took top honours with first overall. Junior Thomas put on a strong ride taking the first moto win but a second in moto two and a third in moto three secured second overall on the day. Charley Heatley had a consistent day taking third overall. In the Vets it was Chris Keeble who took the overall with Rob Hands closely following in second and Andy Green third.

The AMX class hit the track next with some fierce racing happening from the front all the way to the back but it was Rowan Hill who showed his class in top spot overall on the day with a 2,1,1 moto score. Jason Varnham put on a hard charge in moto one for the victory followed by two second place finishes for second overall. Darren Arscott had a consistent day clinching third in all three motos for third place overall.

The Big Wheel 85’s was dominated in style by a smooth riding Mason Law who took a maximum for overall top spot. Brad Garrett was the only rider on the day who could just keep Mason in his sights and finished all three motos in second for second overall on the day. Jordan Pasquale charged hard from a couple of bad starts to finish the day third overall.

The Small Wheel 85’s had a dominant winner also with Connor Hughes taking the win in all three motos with ease for the overall top spot on the day. Austin Eary had a consistent day finishing second overall with two seconds and a fourth. Tommie Schofield had a mixture of results but secured the final spot on the podium with a 3,4,2 score on the day.

The Junior class was a good one to watch with Dylan Woodcock who wasn’t challenged all day taking all three motos for the overall. Ryan Allison put together a great day taking second overall on the day. Fred Flowers put on a charge in the final two motos after having problems in the first moto, but managed to secure third place overall.

The Auto’s were out next running a slightly shortened track for safety reasons, but it was Drew Anderson who is putting together a strong season who took all three wins for the overall. Harry Peck had a fantastic ride to secure second place overall with a hard charging Chris Reader in third. Bethany Allison put together a strong day taking a third place in moto two helping her on her way to fourth overall on the day.
