East Kent is the only schoolboy motocross club based in Kent. We race at various tracks in Kent, Surrey and E Sussex. Our riders range from 6 years old to late 40’s! We run fortnightly in the summer and monthly in the winter.
Once a year we hold a meeting at the famous Canada Heights track near Swanley – this is the only chance that schoolboy riders get to ride this marvellous track if they are not taking part in any of the national championships. We have a full calendar and also take part in all the BSMA events as well – the Semi-Finals, Finals and the Team Event. New members are always welcome – please contact Ann by phone or email for more details.web address www.ekssc.co.uk

Five Clean Sweeps!
Reported By Tracey Whittam.
Ringmers newly revamped track was the venue for the East Kent Club’s round six of the summer championship. The day saw five clean sweeps for Charlie Burt, Albie Wilkie, Shaun Springer, Arron Jenner and Jack Eldridge.
Not only was the day dominated by the boys but the track proved to be a great challenge too, with a few extra surprises thrown in.
First of which was a reverse line up. Starting with Autos and Juniors out first, followed by the Seniors, Amx, Small wheels and the Big wheels out last.
So with the sun shining once more and a swarm of fluorescent jackets at the ready, the Autos were ready to go. At the drop of the start gate, they were off and like a bat out of hell came the leader little Charlie Burt. He raced round the track at some speed to get three straight wins, to give him first overall. Behind the cloud of dust left by Charlie a great battle was to be had by Jake Sindon and Jack Nixon for second and third place. This saw in race one Jake 2nd and Jack 3rd and in race two Jack 2nd and Jake 3rd.
In race three Jack once again hungry to get that first place had to settle for 2nd place to give him second overall. Rhys Cooper was to take 3rd place.
Next were the Juniors and yep with another surprise in store, saw the return of the clubs very own Albie Wilkie. It was Albie’s first time back after the Elite rounds and also a return to racing from injury too. There was no stopping our Albie who was to get three straight wins and to finish first overall.
In race one visitor Jack Carpenter was up for the challenge to catch Albie but had to settle for 2nd place instead. Well done Jack for a good gutsy ride! Close behind and just as hungry came Reagan Brooks for 3rd.
Race two saw Reagan up for the challenge once more, which was to come from Tom Lockhart this time. As they battled it out between them it was Tom who took 2nd place and Reagan once again had to settle with 3rd place.
Tom was to go on in race three to get his second 2nd place win of the day and was followed home this time by Louis Cloud to get 3rd place.
Well done to all the Auto and Junior riders as you stamped your mark and set a very high standard of racing for the seniors to follow.
The Seniors were out next. All eyes were on Shaun Springer and his new Honda machine which rode him home to victory in every race to give him three straight wins and first overall. But this wasn’t easy for Springer as Lewis Moyle was hot on his heals in every race for a taste of the action. Race one saw Springer 1st, Moyle 2nd and John Hobbs to follow home in 3rd place.
What a ride for Lewis in race two though, which saw him take the hole shot and lead for the first lap. Shaun chased Lewis hard and took the lead and the win with Lewis settling for 2nd place once again. A well deserved 3rd place went to Frankie Bennett who rode well throughout the race.
In race three Lewis again set his sights on that first place finish. Lewis pulled out all the stops but it wasn’t enough and had to settle for 2nd place for the third and final time with Kieran Clarke close behind him to finish 3rd place.
Next to hit the dirt was the Amx group which saw Arron Jenner riding his way to three straight wins with ease.
Louis Waugh and Wildman Paul Willis were left to battle it out between them for second place in races one and two. This saw Louis just getting the edge on Wildman, to get two second places and Wildman to settle with two third places.
Race three however was a different story with both Louis and Wildman crashing on the first bend .This meant rather than being at the front of the pack they found themselves at the back. But this didn’t stop them from working their way up the pack to finish just outside third place, Louis in 4th and Wildman in 6th. Well done guys you worked hard!!
Dave Capper had a tremendous days racing which all paid off in the end in race three to finish in a well deserved 2nd place. Ben Crane was to follow Dave home on the same note to finish in 3rd place. Again well done to you guys you worked hard in all the days racing. A well deserved result!!!
Also can I just say what good sportsmanship by Arron Jenner who stopped on his lap of honour to help fellow rider Josh Coomber (43) who had bike trouble. Arron was able to get the bike going and cleared the track ready for the Small wheels. Thanks Arron!!!!
The Small wheels saw Mitchell Lewis, Callum Heasman and Charlie Earley dominating race one with Mitchell 1st, Callum 2nd and Charlie 3rd. But race two proved to be exciting and saw Callum 1st, Mitchell 2nd and Charlie just to miss out on third place to Nathan Turner-Whittle. Race three saw again the return of Mitchell 1st, Callum 2nd and Charlie to follow home in 3rd. A close call and excellent rides from everyone!!
You know the saying save the best till last! Well that’s just what East Kent did with the Big wheels, saved the best till last!!
The Big wheels saw the return of Jack Eldridge still carrying an injury from the Elites at Canada Heights, to get three straight wins and first overall.
Race one saw a good race between Eldridge, Jake Fry 2nd and Dan Packman 3rd. But boy what a race for Dan’s your man Guy!!! In race one though,’ Crashed at the start and last round the first corner. Too work his way up to 13th in the first lap. With every lap he worked his way up the field to finish at the end of the race in 6th. A big well done you rode your socks off Dan!!! In race two Eldridge was to be chased by visitor Steven Robinson to take 2nd and Toby Stubberfield to take 3rd place with Dan Guy just missing out. The third and final race of the day saw Eldridge being chased for the last time by Dan Packman 2nd and visitor Steven Robinson 3rd.
An enjoyable day was had by all and many thanks go to the land owners for this. Also special thanks to the paramedics for their hard work and support to our injured riders. We wish them well to a speedy recovery and a quick return to racing. Lastly a big thank you to the committee, track maintenance team, points ladies and the lap scorers.
