Bridgestone twist the throttle on exclusive motocross partnership


Bridgestone is going full-throttle in the two-wheel world of motocross for a further 12 months, courtesy of a new and improved partnership with the British Schoolboy Motorcycle Association (BSMA). Following a hugely successful foray into the sport this year, the world’s largest tyre manufacturer has decided to extend its title sponsorship of the BSMA’s Clubman’s Series into 2015, which showcases some of motocross’s brightest young talents at races across the UK. Bridgestone has gained significant traction in terms of brand awareness and sales opportunities from its motocross association this year and is already outlining plans to make next year even more memorable. For the first time, professional technical and pit boarding areas will be created, while branding will be improved at each round. Significantly, Bridgestone’s motocross range, including the critically acclaimed Battlecross X30 and X40, will be readily available for purists to purchase, while a fitting service will also be provided. Bridgestone’s training development manager Mark Fereday also revealed that certain aspects of the Clubman’s Series would be modified, to make each round as compelling as possible for spectators and riders alike. He said: “We will introduce a timed practice session to dictate gate picks for the first race, while all points accrued at every stage of the series will count in 2015. “A special Bridgestone gift will be sent to each rider once their entry for the first round arrives with the BSMA and more significantly, a Bridgestone Cup will be staged as a one-off event, with more details to be announced shortly.” Mark said that Bridgestone had been delighted with its inaugural year of BSMA sponsorship and was pleased to be in a position to announce a more comprehensive partnership next year, centred around its six-round Clubman’s Series. “We are all big fans of motocross here at Bridgestone, and our range of bespoke motocross tyres bear testament to this. “Our presence at the Clubman’s Series has generated a great deal of interest in our products and we feel we’ve positioned ourselves as premium experts in the sport. “This reputation can only be enhanced with an even closer relationship with the BSMA in 2015, where our presence will grow even further, as we leverage a number of exciting opportunities.”
