The track conditions improved as the day progressed at Bromyard as plenty of rain leading up to the event and deep grading let the moisture continue to surface during racing, after an early start and no hold ups the day was wrapped up with a trophy presentation before 5.00 clock. The only downside was the no show of a large amount of riders, your loss on this occasion as with perfect conditions it produced really close racing in all the groups. More

The Warley Wasps staged Round 9 of the Club Championship at the excellent Wolverley circuit in Kidderminster on Sunday. Riders arrived to find the sandy terrain well prepared again by Nige Bache & Andy Manley with some additional work carried out on the jumps in the lower half of the track. The loose top surface cut up quickly developing into prime berms and plenty of gnarly sections that demanded maximum focus & respect from every rider out there, particularly in the later stages of each moto.

In the Auto class action, it was swap and change all day as Tom Miller, Matt Tolley & Ben Humphries diced it out, taking a race win each & proving just how hard these young pilots battled against each other. Overall victory went to Miller with Tolley in 2^nd & fast improving Humphries in 3rd. Cory Aldridge also put in a great last race to move himself up to 4^th overall in the standings ahead of Joe Brookes in 5^th.

The Junior pilots coped extremely well with the tough track and put on a great display of close racing. The overall victory was again up for grabs in this class with a different race winner each time out but the young gun coming out on top this time around was the talented Sam Davies taking a win & two 2^nd place finishes. Runner up to Davies was Oldie Cole (who claimed the last race win) closely followed by Ben Watkins in 3rd (who took the first race win), Harvey Matthews in 4th & Archie Collier 5th.

Once again the SW85’s enjoyed an excellent turn out with nearly 30 young riders at the beginning of the day’s action. And it came fast & furious! Overall victory belonged to the super quick Charlie Cole who demonstrated blazing pace as he carved some great lines around the track en route to maximum points on the day. Behind Cole it was left to the regular front men, the Woodhouse brothers to dice it out for the runner up spot, with Luke edging older brother Owen for it although never very far apart! Behind the intensity continued with Joseph Davies claiming 4^th & James Hanscomb grabbing 5^th with a great 2^nd place finish in the last outing.

Likewise in the BW85’s the action was frantic as they tore around the circuit. A revitalised Jordan Wright took his Suzuki to the overall with 2 hard fought wins & a third place from the ever present KTM of Jordan Riley in 2nd. In the last outing, new BW85 class rookie - Brooklyn Evans, was really pushing on with Riley at the front of the pack but went down very hard exiting the wooded section, hurting the quick young Welshman’s chances of what looked to be a certain podium. Mitch Evans put in three typically gutsy rides for his well earned 3^rd overall from Joe Cadwallader in 4^th and Nathan Bache, nursing a sprained foot in 5^th.

In the Seniors Jake Ford was rapidly out the gate in every race aboard his new Kawasaki and looked in excellent form claiming his first overall win in the Senior class with a second place and 2 wins. Luke Phillips rode consistently strong to bag himself three 3rd place finishes and second overall ahead of James Curtin on his Honda in 3rd. Joe Seedhouse improved with each outing and took a runner up spot to Ford in the last race to give himself 4^th overall ahead of Elliot Hawkes in 5^th. Jordan Saunders, the only man to deny Ford a race win in the first moto, DNF’d the last race hurting his chances of a podium.

The AMX class, Dan Jagelski had to settle for 2^nd this week to the very quick Yamaha mounted Ryan Jones. Jones made light work of the track and showed an impressive display of speed to take 3 commanding victories and the overall. 3^rd overall went to another usual frontman, Adam Wells, ahead of the Suzuki of Karl Haycock in 4^th and Nick Morris in 5^th.

The Vets/EVO class belonged to Simon Gower who took 3 race wins on his awesome Maico framed CR500. Out the gate like a rocket in each race, Gower quickly gapped the competition then rode text book style monitoring any challengers. Usual pace setter John Evans tried as he might to catch Gower but it just wasn’t possible on the day and he had to be content with 2^nd overall. 3^rd overall went to John Gauntlett and Dave Cadwallader, back in action after a few weeks off, took a nice 4^th overall ahead of Russ Hartill in 5^th.

R.Y.M.X.C ran round 12 of their club championship this weekend at The Neuadd Penybont. The heavy rain did not deter them as they started racing at 10 am and ran all three blocks and were finished up by 3.15pm. First off the gate to brave the wet conditions was the autos and juniors. Tomos Wright was not fazed by the weather and took two out of three race wins and was unlucky in the last race as his bike wasn’t as keen for the weather as Tomos was which caused him a DNF. Adam Thomas was also battling the conditions well and took two seconds and was also unlucky to have a DNF in race three. Rheanna Morgan-Rogers and Levi Davies had some very exciting battles throughout the day and Levi living up to his 2012 trophy title “True Grit” stormed the field to take his first ever race win in the last race and the over all win of the day! The novice autos were troopers facing some very difficult races but Sion Evans managed two race wins, closely followed by Sion Wright with two race seconds, but luck wasn’t on the boys sides as both Sions and Iestyn Morgan were unable to finish the final race! Bad lucks boys but outstanding riding, a big well done to you all!

Also out with the autos were the juniors with Matthew Harries taking two race wins and a second, Trystan Williams was battling with Matthew and took one race win from him and battled on to come out with a second and fourth. Connor Thomas and Carwyn Rosser battled throughout the day and gave some good spectating. Further down the field the boys were still pushing hard as the rain came down and Kian Thomas, Charlie Morgan and Jack Probert had battles on their own swapping and changing places as races progressed.

Next on the gate was the big and small wheels. Small wheel rider Ryan Rowlands who was recently back from injury the first race win, but Jamie Evans was close on his tail and wasn’t going to give in easily. Billy Jones put the pressure on Jamie and Ryan in race two and took the win and continued his well deserved winning streak in race three, followed by Jamie. Harry Edwardes had a brilliant day and pushed hard ahead of Jack Samuels, Giles Jones was in amongst the boys giving them a run for their money coming out with two thirds and a sixth. It wasn’t the best day for Iwan Roberts as he had to miss out the last two races due to mechanicals but took a well deserved seventh in the first race, hot on his tail was Kyle Biggs who has come back from injury very well to race consistently all day. Alex Powell and Shauna Hope showed commitment finishing all three races pushing hard all day! The big wheel riders were lacking entry wise but the racing certainly wasn’t, Callum Evans stormed the racing with three well deserved wins as he pushed hard and wasn’t fazed with what he was faced with. Ieuan Morgan was to follow with three seconds and Hannah Pickersgill who was very determined took three thirds with some very good rides, well done!

The seniors was a big class and full of action throughout the field. Kieron Cooke was first but right with him was Adam James with close battles all day which swapped and changed but Adam took took two out of three wins from keiron. Joe Roberts took to the wet weather like a duck to water as the condtions got worse his race positions got better taking a fifth and two thirds. The ever improving Jake Green a deserved third and two fourths. Trystan Leyshon stuck too and rode well all day. Kiaron Watkins didn’t think too much of the wet weather but still showed commitment and finished all three races. Further down the field Connor Friel and Tamara Morgan battled through the raced with Connor having a very good race in race two uping his game! Well done to all riders!

The adult riders were last out and saw three very different race conditions throughout the day with, slippy, wet and sticky tracks! The experts were blasting off with Shaun Buchan storming the lead out of three races, with Karl Haycock giving him a run for his money in race one and taking the lead! Luke Morgan having some good consistant races behind the boys giving him second overall. Gareth Hughes took to the wettest race of the day getting a third in race two. Chris Hill and Jonathan Evans battling in the first race but Chris Hill had bike troubles and was unable to finish the day. Club rider Adam Morris didn’t have his best ride but is making a speedy recovery and we wish him all the best! The clubman class was easily led by Neil Thomas showing the youngsters how its done! Ryan Nicholls had three good races battling with Ryan Jones swapping places lap after lap. Aaron Martin was very unlucky with his bike giving up before he did and caused him to not start the last race but was up their with a second place in race one! Danny Morris making a bit of a come back finishing two out of three races. The rookies saw Paul Williams take three race wins racing with some of the clubman in some races. Hannah Hope took three strong seconds battling hard to the end to fight off Josh Atkins with Three Thirds. The Vets were showing their age today! With Jonathan Williams taking a race win and Philip Coid taking a second in the first race but neither being able to start the second or third race!

Cotswold Youth and AMX were in action again at the Rushwick track near Worcester on Sunday 4^th August. A few track improvements had been made since the last meeting, with new jumps and some new sections of track added.

Three blocks of racing were held, the first block being in good conditions, the second block in very heavy rain and the third block on a very wet and sticky track.

First off were the seniors. Race 1 saw Andy Fitzgerald get off to a blistering start, hotly pursued by Rob Yates (Bridgestone Suzuki) and Jack Biddle. Fitzgerald held off a hard charging Yates to take the race win. Fitzgerald took the overall 250F class with Zac Harris the second 250F. Yates took the 125cc win from Biddle, Craig Lawrence, Conner Franklin and Alistair Garness. There were good battles for the top six positions with Zac Hackett, Jack Gillett and Curtis Carter. Race 2 was very wet conditions changing the track totally. The race 1 battle resumed with Fitzgerald, Yates and Biddle in close formation. Biddle lost ground after a fall, but rejoined to retain his position. Fitzgerald took the 250F win from Harris, with Yates, Biddle and Alistair Garness taking the top three 125cc positions. Consistent rides in the terrible rain from Garness, Franklin, Hackett and Gillett kept them in the running for a podium 125cc position.

Race 3, the rain had stopped and the conditions had changed to wet sticky mud. Again it was the same three battling for the lead, but this time Biddle showed his mastery of the conditions. Mid-way through Yates pulled up with a mechanical problem, leaving Biddle a good lead over Fitzgerald. Jack Kear came into his own in these conditions to take the 3^rd spot in the 125cc , not far behind Garness in 2^nd position. Gillett took a creditable fourth position.

In the AMX all three races were dominated by Kawasaki mounted Gerwin Exon, who was consistently fast despite the deteriorating conditions. Also in the running were Alistair Hunt, Steve Plant and James Philpotts. Hunt consolidated his 2^nd overall with a 5^th and two 2^nd positions. Plant improved in every race with a 7^th, 4^th and 3^rd positions to take the 3^rd place on the podium.

Paul Longford in the AMX Open battled with Ryan Bawn for the top Open positions. An early challenge by a hard charging Ben Gillett in race 1 ended when Gillett’s Yamaha 450 suffered a mechanical failure. Bawn took the race 1 win and was second in race 2, but failed to finish race 3. Longford took a 2^nd and two 1^st positions to take the overall class win. Jake Guy put in three good rides to take the 2^nd overall position, as did Russ Boyles to take the 3^rd step.

Andy Little took the overall in the Vets AMX with two race wins. Rob Nash came in a fine 2^nd overall and Matt Norris took the 3^rd place. The weather took its toll on the Vets AMX with no riders competing in the last race! Mark Fereday took 4^th with Bill Atkinson and Steve Franklin 5^th and 6^th respectively.

The Vets Open was won overall by Andrew Rocky, with Lee Barrett 2nd and Nigel Hackett 3^rd. Steve Mustow finished the open in 4^th place.

The Big Wheel 85 was a hotly contested class with a number of riders in the running for a race win. Brad Edwards had three impressive races taking two wins and 3^rd to take the overall win. The race for 2^nd was a tough fight between Brad Priest, Dan Wheeler and Nathan Bache. These traded places in all three races with Bache taking 2^nd spot with two 3rds and a race win. Wheeler took a 4^th and two seconds to grab the 3^rd place and Priest came in 4^th with a 2^nd and two 4^th places. Aston Tutt proved she is improving all the time with two 6th’s and 5^th place, followed by Joe Brisco, Simon Boyles and Solly Carter.

The Small Wheel 85 class was also a hard fought class. Dominic Lancett was unbeatable with three straight wins to take the overall position. Will Wheeler came in 2^nd with two 2nds and 3^rd position. The 3^rd place overall was closely fought between Efan Loring and Will Wheeler with Wheeler taking the second spot. Rhys Baker, Kyle Sheppard and Declan Roden took 4^th, 5^th and 6^th places. Emily Noon and Callum Shepherdson completed all three races to finish 7^th and 8^th respectively.

The Junior 65cc class was a great battle with a number of riders sharing the honours to take the overall spot. With two 1^st’s and a 4^th , the ever improving Hedley Longford took the overall position. Battling for 2^nd overall was Josh Noon with two 5^th’s and his maiden race win in race 3. A close 3^rd and tied on points was Kyran Billing, with Noon’s final race win deciding the position. The 4^th, 5^th and 6^th positions were closely fought with Thomas Garness, Callum Baldwin and Nathan Thomlinson taking the places respectively with a only few points separating them. Excellent performances in all three races gave Finn Corbijn, Bryn Brookes, Cameron Jackson and Daniel Hope positions of 7^th to 10^th respectively.

Autos were last and all riders deserve credit for their determination in the wet conditions. Convincing winner was Charlie Palmer with three straight wins, who revelled in the wet and was in a class of his own. Lewis Roden and Jake Randle took the next two places, with Roden securing three 2^nd positions. Fine rides from Kesley Nisbett, Sam Morris and Ben Mustoe got them 4^th to 6^th positions.

Coventry Junior Motox Club did it again, despite the intense heat, the Club yet again pulled out all the stops to ensure their riders had another great Club Championship Top Ten Trophy Meeting whilst at the popular Weedon Track in Northamptonshire.

First out after a wet practice session were the Veteran Riders with Luke Brown going all out for the win in the first race closely followed by Sean Doyle in 2^nd and Simon Steadman in 3^rd. Race two and this time Sean managed to snatch the win from Luke with Simon again coming in 3^rd place. The final race and these old timers didn’t let the heat get to them as they battled their way to the finish line with Luke Brown again taking a deserved win, Sean Doyle 2^nd and Simon Steadman a consistent 3^rd.

Next to try their luck around Weedon came the Senior Youth Class and what a class ! Daniel Neale kept the pressure on in the first race to take the win from Joe Tobutt in 2^nd and a brilliant first time back from injury for Charlie Sutton ensured he took 3^rd. Race two and this time Joe didn’t let any of the wet stuff get under his wheels for too long by crossing the chequered flag first ahead of Daniel Neale in 2^nd and 3^rd again for Charlie Sutton. The final race and another win for Daniel Neale, 2^nd for Joe Tobutt and a 3^rd place hat-trick for Charlie Sutton.

Full Flight rider Brad Doyle claimed a convincing win in the first Open Class race with a battling Jordan Hughes taking 2^nd and Bobby Carruthers taking 3^rd. Race 2 and another win for Brad Doyle, 2^nd this time for Chuck Davies who had moved into the class on a borrowed bike with 3^rd going to Jordan Hughes. The final race and a battle it was from start to finish by the top 3 riders but Chuck Davies just had the edge on his borrowed machine from Brad Doyle in 2^nd and a good ride by Bobby Carruthers who took 3^rd.

Scott “Titch” Hambridge had a blinder of a day with 3 well deserved race wins in the AMX Class.

Dean Hakes claimed 2^nd place in races 1 and 2 with Danny O’Callaghan taking 3^rd place in races 1 and 2. The final race and after Titch crossed the finish line came Danny O’Callaghan in 2^nd and 3^rd place for Dean Hakes.

The first race in the Big Wheel 85cc class saw a bit of a pile up just after the start but it didn’t stop Kyde Marlow from taking the race win ahead of visiting Luke Postlethwaite in 2^nd and Mitchell Warhurst 3^rd. Race two and this time Mitch Warhurst crossed the finish flag first with Kyde Marlow 2^nd and Tommy Pittaway 3^rd. The final race for the Big Wheels and another win for Mitchell Warhurst, 2^nd for Kyde Marlow and 3^rd for Tommy Pittaway.

Scot Davidson powered his way to victory in the first Small Wheel 85cc group with Ethan Etheridge 2^nd and Jack Thompson 3^rd. Race two and this time victory for Ethan Etheridge who scored his first ever race win ahead of Jack Thompson in 2^nd place and a cracking ride by Tyrone Brown to take the final podium spot. The final race and Ethan decided he likes this winning lark by taking another well deserved race win from visiting Jack Thompson in 2^nd and a brilliant race by Morgan Rayns who snatched 3^rd place from Kieran Ryan.

A bit of jet lag didn’t keep Jacob Russell from enjoying his day as this plucky little rider blew the opposition away by taking 3 excellent race wins in the Junior 65cc group despite Joshua Main trying his utmost best to beat him but in the end Joshua crossed the finish in 2^nd place for all 3 moto’s. 3^rd place in races 1 and 2 went to Harrison “Mop” Boam with Lewis Thompson taking the final 3^rd place in race 3.

A good group of Auto riders ensured the racing would be top notch and they didn’t disappoint the large crowd of well wishers. The cheering was for all the riders whether they were at the front or rear of the pack and must have powered these little stars of the future on. Riley Harrison kept his cool throughout the day to take 3 excellent race wins. Kyle Ingram took three great 2^nd places whilst Tyler Etheridge took 3^rd place in races 1 and 2 with Kayde Rayns taking the final podium position of the day in race 3. Brilliant racing.

Cotswold were back at Bromyard for the next instalment of the club championship.

Originally the plan was to run over two days but given the recent weather a decision was made to prep the track for one day, to try and control the dust.

Some light overnight rain helped and it was a cool grey start that greeted the riders for practice. The track was spot on and as usual a very fast flowing with all the jumps resurfaced, lay in wait for the AMX Guys.

The AMX Open guys were mixed where in the open class Scott Meredith led the way with two fine wins and a second in the last race. Ryan Bawn showed that he can still mix it with the youngsters to take the win in the last race 2^nd overall, Mark Bayliss had a good ride to finish the day in third..

Nick Morris was the man to beat in the AMX group with a 2 nd in moto 1 followed by two wins in the rest. Alan Pearce another old head was quick to shine taking the win in the 1^st moto followed by a brace of seconds to finish 2^nd overall, James Philpotts was another having a good day to finish third on the podium.

The Seniors were away next where Rob Yates continues to shine with two classy wins and a 2^nd in the last moto for the overall. Jack Biddle kept him honest with a pair of seconds and a win in the last moto for second overall, Ryan Deccon did enough for third overall.

The Senior Open guys were out with the 2 strokes where Luke Craig took the overall with a pair of wins and a 2^nd in the last moto. Jack French was another with a pair of seconds in motos 1+2 and a win in the last race for second overall. Josh Bishop was consistent with 3

Thirds and the last place on the podium.

In the vets it Paul Longford that set the pace and was the 1^st maximum winner of the day

Andy Watkins kept him in sight, and was a pleasure to watch on his KX500 proving talent does not always disappear with age. Steve Rowland was only 2 points behind Watkins to finish third overall for the day.

.The 85cc were out together where Bradley Priest had a storming day taking two wins and a second for his 1^st overall victory. Well done Brad. Ieuan Morgan took the win in the 2^nd moto

but had to settle for second. Callum Evans was tied on Points with Morgan but had to settle for third overall.

In the small wheels Dom Lancett on his second ride back after injury was quickly back to wining ways with two wins and second taking 1^st overall, Aaron Colley keeps improving taking the win in the 1^st moto and second overall. Cal Watson had a strong ride to take the last place on the podium.

Next out were the juniors where Kyran Billing put on a classy show with a 1-2-1 scorecard but was kept honest by Hedley Longford with a 2-1-2 score for second overall. Billy Collins was another that was having a good day riding well for third overall.

The club also ran a EVO group which was great to watch!

Kevin Saunders took the overall with a 2-2-2 scorecard. Matt Hinchman looked set for the win

With 1-1-6 scorecard but problems in the last moto meant he had to settle for second. Dave

Cameron went 4-4-4 for the last place on the podium.

The Autos were away last where again Zac Dunton looked set for another maximum until his bike died in the last moto pushing him back to third overall. Charlie Palmer entertained the crowd with his daredevil jumping and with Duntons bike on stop took the overall in the last moto. Lewis Roden Had another good day to take third on the podium.
